Follow-up guidance written for Highfields, so the learning became lasting practice.
Over the past year, we have had the privilege of working with Chris Benson, an outstanding professional whose expertise and authenticity have had a significant impact across our whole school community.
We started our journey with Chris initially working with our Senior Leadership Team. Chris helped us identify our strengths and areas for development and supported us in shaping our vision and long-term approach. This enabled us to strategically plan and implement meaningful changes, ensuring our decisions were guided by the needs of the whole school community.
Chris delivered tailored training for teachers initially, and then for Teaching Assistants and support staff. He adapted both content and delivery to meet the differing needs, roles and levels of experience of each audience. This resulted in highly engaging sessions that staff found informative, relevant and immediately applicable to their work.
Chris went on to deliver parent sessions which our Governors also attended. These were exceptionally well received, with information presented in an accessible and empathetic way looking in depth at the perspectives of the child, the parent and the school. This helped strengthen understanding and partnership between home and school.
As well as his extensive knowledge, Chris drew on his lived experience from multiple perspectives. He answered questions honestly and thoughtfully, creating a safe environment for discussion and reflection. Chris has also provided valuable follow-up guidance in a bespoke, school-based blueprint to ensure that learning translated into meaningful and sustainable practice.
We would highly recommend Chris Benson to any school looking for strategic guidance, high-quality professional development and a collaborative partner who is committed to achieving positive outcomes for children, families and staff. His contribution has left a lasting legacy on our school.
